My path to this moment hasn’t been straight or simple.

Have you ever followed a path that looked right on paper… but didn’t feel right in your heart? I have.

For a long time, I followed what felt expected of me. I was shy. I was still finding my voice. I loved outside validation, and my people-pleasing tendencies were crippling! So I stayed on a journey that wasn’t fully mine.

But here’s the thing about people, just like seasons, they change.

I've always loved being creative. My sister and I both loved art at school and were always doing something creative as a hobby. One of my first extracurricular classes after school was art. We definitely got it from our mom. She was always creating something when we were younger, and I still remember helping her at markets where she was selling handmade products.

In high school, I took art and graphic design, and absolutely loved it! I went on to study in a creative field, excited about what the future might hold.

But life had other plans.

After college, what started as a graphic design job quickly became a marketing career, because I didn't say 'no, this isn't for me'. Eleven years later, I was still there. It paid the bills. I was good at it. People said I was doing well.

But deep down? Something was missing.

In 2021, I started making colourful earrings, for the joy of creating again and to find my passion & happy again. And something sparked. A fire I hadn’t felt in years. That spark turned into something bigger, and so my dream of starting my own business began.

 

That’s how Remember October Creations was born.

Remember October is more than earrings. It’s a reminder.

A reminder that life has seasons. Some bright, some softer, some quieter. But every season carries its own kind of colour.

And honestly, I've lived through a few seasons, from the corporate world, to immigrating from South Africa to Canada, and to starting my own business.

Some seasons are harder than others, but wearing my colourful earrings is a reminder that even in harder seasons, I can find a little bit of joy, even if that means putting on a colourful pair of earrings.

Because even on those days, colour can shift your mood. It can bring vibrancy into your everyday life. It can remind you to look for the glimmers.

These earrings are made to be tiny celebrations of joy.
A reminder that happiness is a choice.
That creativity is powerful.
And that your dreams are still possible, no matter how long it takes to find your way back to them.
